Spécial Club "Cuis" 2018
The Champagne Special Club "Cuis" 2018 by Pierre Gimonnet highlights the identity of the Cuis terroir, one of the most representative Premier Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs. Since 2012, alongside the historic Special Club cuvée, the Gimonnet family has introduced editions dedicated to single terroirs: in this case, a vintage crafted exclusively from the Premier Cru of Cuis.
This Blanc de Blancs is made solely from Chardonnay, sourced from the lieux-dits Croix-Blanche (85%) and Les Roualles (15%), parcels carefully selected to capture the village’s most authentic personality. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats to preserve precision and aromatic freshness, followed by 4 years of lees ageing, which bring complexity, balance and depth. The Extra Brut dosage (4 g/l) enhances energy, tension and minerality, while maintaining the purity of the Domaine’s style.
On the palate, Special Club "Cuis" 2018 reveals a taut and luminous profile, with a refined bouquet of ripe citrus, crisp pear, green apple and delicate white flowers, enriched by hints of herbal notes, chalk and fresh almond. The palate is marked by vertical energy and a pronounced mineral texture, supported by an ultra-fine mousse that amplifies tension and precision. The finish is long, vibrant and saline, leaving an impression of great purity and elegance.
