Champagne La Croix Saint-Ladre 2016 by Colin is a pure Chardonnay from grapes from the over 40 year old vineyards of the homonymous lieu-dit in Vertus - Premier Cru of the Côte des Blancs, cultivated according to the principles of certified "Haute" Viticulture Valeur Environnementale - Niveau 3”.Millésime 2016, the vinification takes place in steel vats and aging on the yeasts for at least 5 years. Dosage 4 g/l (Extra Brut).Champagne La Croix Saint-Ladre is the most authentic interpretation of the winemaking philosophy of Domaine Colin and its terroir of origin. Finesse and freshness are the fundamental characteristics of the cuvée, an original expression of the soil characterized by clay and chalky loam on the surface and pure white chalk in depth. The mineral freshness is immediately evident on the nose and is accompanied by citrus notes and extraordinarily fresh exotic hints. The palate is soft and fresh and gives life to a pulpy and crunchy profile, with citrus notes in the finish. An excellent Champagne for an aperitif but also with meat and fish dishes such as duck with orange or monkfish curry.
