Champagne Paul Launois

The Champagne Portrait 2015 by Paul Launois is a Blanc de Blancs made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, a historic Grand Cru of the CĂ´te des Blancs, renowned for its deep chalky soils that lend the wines mineral tension, crystalline freshness and great longevity. The 2015 vintage, marked by balance and maturity, allowed the full essence of this exceptional terroir to emerge.
The vinification, carried out entirely in stainless steel, involves spontaneous fermentation and extended ageing on fine lees, without filtration, to fully preserve the varietal identity. After bottling, the wine rests 7 years on the lees, developing a complex and harmonious structure, with a very fine and perfectly integrated mousse. The Extra Brut dosage, limited to 2 g/l, enhances the expressive purity of the Chardonnay and the natural tension of the Grand Cru of origin.
On the nose, Portrait 2015 opens with great refinement: notes of white flowers, citrus peel, flint and delicate toasty nuances emerge. On the palate, it is deep and vibrant, supported by a chalky mineral texture and vertical freshness that leads to a long, savoury finish. A true portrait of Le Mesnil and a vintage of rare consistency and elegance.
