The Champagne La Clé des Sept Arpents by Laurent Bénard perfectly embodies the vigneron’s philosophy, rooted in respectful viticulture and artisanal winemaking. The blend combines 70% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay, and 15% Meunier, sourced from the villages of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Avenay-Val-d’Or, and Mutigny, characterized by clay-limestone soils over chalk. The grapes are drawn from four carefully selected lieux-dits – Chemin du Bois, La Maladrille, Les Basses Clefs, and Les Sept Arpents – which lend the cuvée both complexity and a precise territorial identity.

For this edition, the cuvée is composed of 45% wines from the 2021 harvest and 55% from the Réserve Perpétuelle, initiated in 2012 and matured in foudre. Fermentations are carried out spontaneously, both in oak barrels and in stainless steel, followed by 10 months of maturation. After tirage, the wine rests for at least 24 months on the leesbefore disgorgement. The style is defined by a minimal dosage of 1.3 g/l – Extra Brut, enhancing energy, precision, and expressive transparency.

On the palate, La Clé des Sept Arpents reveals a fresh and vibrant profile, with notes of crisp red fruits, ripe citrus, and white flowers, enriched by mineral and spicy nuances. The palate shows harmonious structure and lively tension, with a long, saline persistence—a true signature of Laurent Bénard’s elegant and rigorous style.
