The Champagne Cumières by Georges Laval is conceived as an identity-driven interpretation of the Premier Cru from which it takes its name, a mosaic of parcels surrounding the village of Cumières and cultivated by the Laval family for generations with an artisanal and rigorously natural approach. The old vines, rooted in the calcareous and sandy soils of the slope, give the wine depth, energy, and mineral tension, shaping an expression designed to convey the voice of the terroir with precision.

This edition, based on the 2023 vintage, is crafted from a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 20% Meunier, and 30% Pinot Noir. Vinification and approximately eight months of maturation in oak barrels help sculpt a complex and vibrant profile, while a minimum of 18 months of ageing on the lees prior to disgorgement defines the character of this Brut Nature, essential and pure in its expression.

In tasting, Cumières shows a brilliant golden colour, opening with an intense nose marked by fruit-forward notes and delicate nuances of white fruits. On the palate, it is rich, full-bodied, and dynamic, with controlled power and a generous fruit expression that enhances its personality. Its structure is ample yet perfectly balanced by incisive freshness, leading to a long finish that underscores both the authenticity of the Cumières terroir and the ability of the Domaine to translate it into a limpid and vibrant expression.
