The Champagne Garennes by Georges Laval is an authentic expression of the Vallée de la Marne terroir, characterized by an artisanal and natural production. It is composed of 90% Meunier, while the remaining 10% is divided between Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Meunier comes from the 2023 harvest, collected in the villages of Chambrecy, Damery, and Hautvillers, to which the vin de réserve from Cumières is added, with vintages ranging from 2022 to 2013. The fermentation and aging in oak barrels give this Champagne a solid structure and great complexity. With a final dosage of just 1 g/l (Extra Brut), it fully expresses its purity and vibrant mineral tension.
In tasting, Garennes displays a brilliant straw-yellow color. On the nose, it is intense and complex, with elegant floral aromas, notes of pear compote, and toasted hazelnut nuances. On the palate, it offers a full-bodied structure, with extraordinary freshness and energy. The minerality is well-defined, accompanied by a pleasant tension and excellent persistence. This Champagne perfectly embodies the artisanal and natural character of Georges Laval’sproduction, delivering a vibrant, elegant, and complex sip.
