Coteaux Champenois Jules Brochet

Les Cumines 2020

The Côteaux Champenois Les Cumines by Jules Brochet is a red wine made from 100% Pinot Noir from the 2020 harvest, with grapes collected from the namesake Lieu-Dit, planted in 1981, located in the Premier Cru village of Rilly-la-Montagne. The year 2020 was particularly warm in Champagne, especially during the ripening of the grapes; despite this unique condition, the freshness of this terroir ensured a good balance with the intensity of the vintage. After destemming, a 15-day maceration is carried out to get the most out of the skins. This is followed by 18 months in oak barrels before bottling for only 297 bottles.

Thanks to the strength of the vintage and the lieu-dit of origin, a unique and natural red wine was obtained from grapes cultivated with respect for nature.

Jules Brochet

The Domaine Jules Brochet is located in Taissy, a village south of Reims, in the Montagne de Reims area. The Domaine is run by Pierric Brochet, a young oenologist and son of winemakers. After some experience at the Domaine Jacques Selosse, Pierric discovered an alternative method of making Champagne, whose primary objective is the expression of the Terroir.

After taking over and purchasing several parcels of vineyards, Pierric dedicated himself to the first vinifications, where the typical characteristics of the different parcels of the Domaine allow the wine to express itself freely during all phases of aging. The philosophy in the vineyard is reasoned and naturalistic, in search of the right balance with the environment. It was only in 2019 that the first marketing of this young Vigneron took place.
