The Champagne Prémices by Jules Brochet is born from the harmonious meeting of two distinctive terroirs: the Lutetian limestones of the Vallée de la Marne and the Campanian chalk of the Montagne de Reims. This dual geological matrix shapes an identity defined by finesse, natural balance, and subtle minerality. The grapes come from vineyards farmed according to soil-respecting agricultural practices, focused on preserving microbiological vitality and the overall balance of the ecosystem, in line with the producer’s artisanal vision.

This rare magnum edition, with a 2019 base vintage, is crafted from a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, enriched by 20% réserve perpétuelle, which brings continuity and expressive depth across vintages. The artisanal approach to vinification involves spontaneous fermentation with no fining or filtration, while the wine undergoes extended lees ageing for at least 72 months. The final dosage of 0 g/l, in Extra Brut style, defines a profile that is essential, precise, and fully coherent, aiming for maximum transparency of expression.

In tasting, Prémices reveals an elegant, restrained profile: on the nose, notes of ripe white fruit, citrus, and delicate hints of red fruit emerge, accompanied by nuances of sweet almond and mineral accents. On the palate it is fresh and lively, supported by a fine mousse, with well-integrated salinity and a long, precise persistence. The finish, lightly bitter-edged, adds depth and definition, reinforcing the wine’s clear territorial expression.
