The Champagne Jane de Rouales Millésime 2020 by Jean Valentin is produced in Sacy, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, and offers a coherent, unforced interpretation of both the terroir and the vintage. The cuvée takes its name from the lieu-dit Jane de Rouales, a parcel that clearly expresses the balance between tension and ripeness typical of this area of the Montagne de Reims. Jean Valentin’s approach is rooted in a classic, restrained style, aimed at highlighting the identity of the vineyard and the natural expressiveness of the vintage.

This Millésime 2020 edition—an vintage marked by even ripening and good concentration—is obtained from an assemblage of the three classic Champagne varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Meunier, sourced exclusively from estate-owned vineyards. Vinification is carried out in stainless steel, a choice intended to preserve aromatic precision and varietal freshness. After bottling, the wine undergoes extended ageing on the lees, contributing to the development of structure and complexity, with a final dosage in Brut style.

In tasting, Jane de Rouales Millésime 2020 shows a bright golden colour and a fine, continuous perlage. The aromatic profile is precise and harmonious, with notes of white-fleshed fruit, ripe citrus, and subtle hints of bread crust and mineral nuances. On the palate, a convincing balance emerges between freshness, substance, and precision, with a linear progression, well-calibrated structure, and a persistent, dry, and measured finish, fully in keeping with the producer’s essential style.
