Le Bruyant 2020
The Champagne Le Bruyant by Étienne Sandrin originates in Celles-sur-Ource, in the Côte des Bar, as a single-parcel interpretation of the eponymous Lieu-Dit, a unique vineyard that reflects the vigneron’s artisanal vision. Here, on generous, deep clay soils, an identity-driven project takes shape, privileging a direct reading of the terroir and expressive precision, delivering an authentic and measured expression of the Aube.
This edition, vintage 2020, is the result of an assemblage of Pinot Noir (90%) and Pinot Blanc (10%), with grapes sourced exclusively from the single parcel. Vinification takes place in stainless steel, with spontaneous fermentations, followed by an ageing on the lees of around 36 months. The restrained dosage, set at 2 g/l, places the wine in an Extra Brut Nature style, highlighting its purity and definition.
On tasting, Le Bruyant shows crisp freshness and composed elegance, supported by a fine and coherent texture. The fruity nuances of Pinot Noir interact with more delicate, floral notes, while the structure remains taut and precise. On the palate, balance is well-judged, the progression harmonious, and the finish clean and persistent, with a dry, vibrant close that enhances the parcel-driven expression of the Lieu-Dit.
