The Champagne Saint Avertin by Jean Valentin is a Blanc de Blancs produced in Sacy, a Premier Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, and reflects an elegant, restrained interpretation of Chardonnay in this part of the appellation. The cuvée offers a precise expression of the terroir’s identity, combining tension and finesse with a luminous reading of the variety, in keeping with the classic and rigorous style that defines the producer.

The wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes sourced from estate-owned vineyards and is vinified and fermented in stainless steel tanks, a choice intended to preserve aromatic purity and clarity of expression. The blend includes a proportion of vin de réserve, a key element in ensuring stylistic continuity and added complexity. After bottling, the wine undergoes ageing on the lees for at least 24 months, a crucial factor in building structure and overall balance.

On tasting, Saint Avertin shows a bright golden colour with a fine, persistent perlage. The aromatic profile is delicate and harmonious, with notes of white flowers—hawthorn and acacia—accompanied by white-fleshed fruit, vineyard peach, pineapple and hints of exotic fruit. On the palate it is fresh and lively, with citrus notes of lemon, a subtle brioche character and a mineral, chalky finish that brings precision and length, enhancing the wine’s overall elegance.
