The Champagne "Le Nombre d'Or" by Aubry is perhaps the most ambitious cuvée of the entire Domaine, the one in which the philosophy of brothers Pierre and Philippe Aubry finds its most complete and visionary expression. From the Premier Cru villages of Pargny-lès-Reims, Jouy-lès-Reims and Coulommes-la-Montagne, this Champagne brings together all the historic varieties of the appellation in a single blend, reviving an ampelographic diversity that belongs to an era preceding the modernisation of Champagne. A bottle that tells seven centuries of Champenois viticulture in a single glass.

This edition, Vintage 2020, is born from the meeting of seven varieties with an equal prevalence of the three main ones, namely 20% Chardonnay, 20% Arbane and 20% Petit Meslier, completed by 10% Meunier, 10% Pinot Gris, 10% Pinot Blanc and 10% Pinot Noir, all sourced from the three Premier Cru villages. Winemaking and fermentation are carried out with malolactic fermentation actively sought to harmonise the complexity of such an articulated blend. After the tirage, the wine ages on the lees for at least 48 months, one of the longest ageing periods of the Domaine, building depth and integration. The final dosage of 6 g/l, in Brut style, accompanies and balances the natural liveliness of the blend while preserving its freshness.

In the glass, it opens with a golden and luminous hue, crossed by a fine and persistent bubble. On the nose the profile is complex and enveloping, with fresh plum, brioche, white flowers, lime and spices interweaving in a rich and multifaceted aromatic picture. On the palate the attack is full and ripe, with a robust structure that gradually refines itself giving way to a pleasant freshness and remarkable length, with the seven varieties dialoguing in harmony through to a long and spiced finish. Total production amounts to approximately 3,800 bottles.
