Champagne Eric Rodez
Les Beurys 2017
The Champagne Les Beurys 2017 by Eric Rodez is an authentic and vibrant expression of the Ambonnay terroir, the iconic Grand Cru village of the Montagne de Reims. Born from a single south-facing parcel, this wine comes from an emblematic lieu-dit, where Pinot Noir sinks its roots into chalk and red clay soils, producing Champagne of depth, tension, and finesse. Part of the Domaine’s parcellaire collection, Les Beurys perfectly embodies Eric Rodez’s philosophy: allowing each fragment of soil to speak as an autonomous entity, revealing the uniqueness of its character.
The 2017 vintage, warm and structured, demanded careful and selective viticulture, yet proved ideal for a powerful Grand Cru like Ambonnay, where Pinot Noir achieves full ripeness and concentration without losing its mineral tension. Vinification and ageing take place entirely in small oak barrels, with no malolactic fermentation, in order to preserve aromatic purity and energy. After the tirage, the wine matures for over 60 months on the lees, developing deep and harmonious complexity. The final dosage of only 2 g/L, in Extra Brut style, highlights Rodez’s precision and the authentic identity of the lieu-dit.
On the palate, Les Beurys 2017 shows a deep golden colour with amber reflections. The bouquet combines ripe yellow fruit, toasted hazelnut, chestnut honey, and a delicate smoky note. The palate is broad and structured, supported by a vibrant mineral backbone that gives lift and freshness. The finish is long and saline, with echoes of dried fruit and sweet spices, achieving perfect harmony, power, and finesse. A Champagne that captures the essence of its terroir and the artisanal precision of Eric Rodez.
