The Champagne Grands Vintages by Eric Rodez stands as the flagship of the Domaine’s multivintage cuvées, conceived as a mosaic of outstanding harvests. It reflects Eric Rodez’s philosophy, aimed at enhancing the complexity, structure, and elegance of Ambonnay wines, offering an interpretation that combines longevity, depth, and a distinctive style.
This Édition 35 is crafted from a blend of 70% Pinot Noir grapes and 30% Chardonnay, sourced exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay. The base harvests come from some of the finest vintages of the Domaine and, after bottling, the wine matures on its lees for around 60 months. The low final dosage, in Extra Brut style, highlights the purity, precision, and natural elegance of the cuvée.
On the palate, Grands Vintages shows a bright golden color with coppery reflections. The bouquet is complex and layered, with notes of ripe fruit, candied citrus, toasted nuances, and delicate mineral hints. It is vibrant and deep, supported by a solid structure well balanced by freshness and tension. The bubbles are fine and persistent, leading to a long, harmonious finish of great finesse.
