Grand Cru
The Champagne Grand Cru by Egly-Ouriet expresses with great coherence the identity of the Montagne de Reims, taking shape from a selection of vines located in the Grand Cru villages of Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzenay. Here Pinot Noir finds one of its most complete expressions, supported by Chardonnay, within a pedoclimatic context that combines power, depth and precision. The production vision follows a rigorous approach that respects natural timing, aiming to deliver an authentic expression of the territory.
This edition, base vintage 2020, shows a clear prevalence of Pinot Noir (70%) with a component of Chardonnay completing the balance of the cuvée. Vinification and fermentation take place with indigenous yeasts, without external inoculation, followed by a first élevage on the lees lasting about one year, allowing for a slow and natural clarification in line with traditional practices. After tirage, the wine ages on its lees for over 50 months, enhancing complexity and structure. The final dosage of 1 g/l, in Extra Brut style, preserves a tense and precise profile.
On the palate, it reveals a broad and layered profile, where notes of ripe fruit, citrus and subtle toasty nuances intertwine with a marked mineral backbone. It shows a solid and well-defined structure, supported by freshness and a fine texture, leading to a harmonious progression and a long, persistent finish.
