Champagne Egly-Ouriet
Millésime Magnum 2012
The Champagne Millésime 2012 by Egly-Ouriet is conceived as a pure, terroir-driven interpretation of the Grand Cru of Ambonnay, from which all the selected vineyards for this cuvée originate. Here, Pinot Noir reaches one of its most authoritative expressions, supported by the finesse of Chardonnay, in a blend crafted to convey depth, energy, and stylistic rigor, in keeping with the artisanal philosophy of the Domaine.
The 2012 harvest gives life to a blend composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. Vinification takes place entirely in wood, with spontaneous fermentations carried out exclusively by indigenous yeasts. This is followed by a first Ă©levage of about one year on the lees, without any intervention, allowing the wine to clarify naturally as in the past. Bottling is performed without filtration or fining. For this edition, presented in magnum format, ageing continues for 12 years on the lees before disgorgement, with a final dosage of 1 g/l, defining an Extra Brut style of absolute precision.
On tasting, Millésime 2012 reveals a profile of remarkable balance, layered with complex tones of ripe fruit, toasted nuances, chalky accents, and floral touches. On the palate, it shows both intensity and breadth while preserving finesse and tension. The finish is exceptionally long, supported by a deep minerality that reflects the unique character of Ambonnay and the impeccable craftsmanship of Egly-Ouriet.
