The Côteaux Champenois Rouge by Charles Dufour is a white wine coming from 100% Pinot Noir grapes harvested from a single vineyard (Lieu-Dit Chervey) grown on a clay-chalky terroir in the Vallée de l'Arce (Côte des Bar). Harvest 2021 in Charles' mother plot, Françoise, which is why the label reads DOMAINE FRANÇOISE MARTINOT.

Charles Dufour

A grower in the Côte des Bar, based in Landreville in the Barséquanais, Charles Dufour represents one of the most authentic expressions of the new generation of independent vignerons. After beginning to work in the family estate in 2006, he undertook a decisive transformation, moving toward a more conscious and respectful approach to viticulture, with the aim of fully enhancing the identity of his grapes and soils.

The conversion to organic farming, completed from the 2010 harvest, marks a key step in his project: all the grapes used for the Charles Dufour – Les Vignes du 7 range are certified. In the cellar, the same philosophy applies, with natural vinifications, spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention, resulting in Champagnes that are authentic and precise, clearly expressing the character of the Côte des Bar.
