Champagne Charles Dufour
Bistrøtage B.20
The Champagne Bistrøtage B.20 by Charles Dufour is born from an authentic vision deeply rooted in respect for the land. After an initial traditionalist approach, the vigneron quickly embraced organic farming, imprinting his wines with a sincere and straightforward stylistic identity. The most recent editions of the BISTRØTAGE range come from grapes grown in the vineyards of his mother, Françoise Martinot, whose name proudly appears on the label, signifying the wine’s family origins and the artisanal care behind the project.
This B.20 edition is a Blanc de Noirs made from 100% Pinot Noir, harvested in 2020 in the Vallée de l’Arce, in the Côte des Bar. The clay-limestone soils help shape the wine’s structure, while vinification is divided equally between stainless steel and wooden vats, reflecting a balance between precision and substance. After tirage, the wine is aged for 42 months on the lees, before being disgorged with a restrained dosage, in Extra Brut style, to preserve its identity.
On tasting, Bistrøtage B.20 displays a deep golden hue and a fine, persistent perlage. The nose reveals a complex and spicy profile, with aromatic clarity that reflects the purity of the fruit and the depth of the terroir. A Champagne that tells the story of the Côte des Bar in its most vivid and personal form.
