Cramant Nature 2022
The Coteaux Champenois Blanc Cramant Nature by Bonnaire is produced in the Grand Cru village of Cramant, in the Côte des Blancs, and stands as a direct expression of one of Champagne’s most emblematic terroirs for Chardonnay. The grapes come from the lieu-dit Les Marmouzes, a flagship parcel of the Domaine, planted in 1962 by founder Fernand Bonnaire. It is the oldest vineyard of the estate, rooted in the classic chalky soils of Cramant, and delivers a deep and authentic interpretation of still Chardonnay, placing family heritage, territorial precision, and a strong calcareous identity at the forefront.
This edition, vintage 2022, is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. Vinification follows a rigorous approach, with fermentation and ageing in wood, a deliberate choice aimed at enhancing the wine’s substance without overshadowing the identity of the terroir. The extended élevage helps build structure and aromatic depth, in keeping with a philosophy focused on maximum expressive transparency.
On tasting, Cramant Nature 2022 opens with clear mineral notes, followed by hints of ripe fruit, buttery nuances, and delicately vanilla-toned touches. On the palate, it shows a broad yet well-defined structure, supported by a constant chalk-driven tension that carries the wine through a long finish. The persistence is deep and coherent, with a balance that brings together substance, freshness, and precision, resulting in a Coteaux Champenois of strong personality and clear ageing potential.
