The Côteaux Champenois Blanc Mailly 2022 by Francis Boulard represents a rare and authentic expression of the Grand Cru of Mailly-Champagne, located in the northern sector of the Montagne de Reims—a historic area where compact chalk, fine clay and a cool microclimate come together to produce wines of great tension and depth. The Domaine’s philosophy, rooted in a biological and biodynamic approach, aims to preserve the identity of the terroir and the vitality of the fruit at every stage of production.
Crafted from 100% Chardonnay harvested in 2022, this still white wine comes from vineyards situated near the village of Mailly-Champagne, where the exposure and chalk-rich soils allow for slow, even ripening. Vinification follows a traditional path, with spontaneous fermentation and a long maturation in 600-liter demi-muids for about 18 months, a choice that gives the wine a balance of purity and aromatic breadth.
On the palate, Blanc Mailly 2022 shows elegance and verticality: aromas of ripe citrus, white flowers, fresh almond and chalky nuances lead into a vibrant, precise palate supported by a saline texture and a long, mineral finish. A white wine of character—essential, deep and refined—unveiling all the finesse of Mailly Grand Cru Chardonnay.
