Verzy Blanc 2022
The Coteaux Champenois Blanc Verzy by Adrien Renoir is crafted from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the lieux-dits La Barbette and Les Grands Champs, parcels located near Verzy Grand Cru in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. The 2022 harvest precisely reflects the character of this terroir, where chalky soils and altitude contribute to defining tension, depth, and elegance. The limited production and the Domaine’s artisanal approach enhance an authentic interpretation of still white wine from Champagne.
This edition, from the 2022 harvest, is vinified and matured in fût de chêne for around 16 months before bottling in March 2024. The oak aging accompanies the wine without overshadowing its territorial profile, contributing additional complexity, texture, and aromatic precision while preserving the natural freshness of Chardonnay from Verzy.
In tasting, Blanc Verzy 2022 reveals a broad and refined profile characterized by notes of ripe white fruit, citrus, and delicate spicy and toasted nuances. On the palate, it displays structure, energy, and a well-defined mineral texture supported by freshness and balanced persistence, leading to a long and harmonious finish.
