Love Story 2012
The Champagne Love Story by Bonnaire celebrates the union of two of Champagne's noblest Grand Crus, where the mineral, chalky power of Cramant dialogues with the warm, fruity depth of Bouzy. This blended cuvée is produced only in vintages of exceptional quality, in very few bottles, and tells the meeting between the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims as a story of balance and passion, capable of transforming two opposing characters into an expression of rare harmony and elegance.
This edition, Vintage 2012, brings together Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in equal parts and involves vinification and fermentation in 228-litre oak barrels, with full malolactic fermentation, while after tirage comes a very long ageing on the lees of at least 10 years. The final dosage of 1.5 g/l, in Extra Brut style, keeps the wine's purity and mineral freshness perfectly intact.
On tasting, Love Story 2012 it reveals an intense, luminous golden robe streaked with a fine, persistent perlage, foreshadowing a rich bouquet in which candied yellow fruit, apple and pear merge with hints of wildflower honey, fresh pastry and delicate floral nuances of peony. On the palate it shows itself ample, mature and full-bodied, supported by a vibrant freshness and by echoes of fruit in syrup, toasted almond and sweet spices, leading to an extremely persistent and generous finish.
