Spécial Club Rosé 2019
The Champagne Special Club Rosé by Paul Bara belongs to the selection that the vignerons of the Club Trésors de Champagne reserve for their most representative bottles, admitted only after the judgement of their fellow members, and it conveys that demand through the voice of Bouzy, a Grand Cru village from the Montagne de Reims where Pinot Noir holds power and finesse together. The Domaine draws from it a rosé of precision, where elegance prevails over intensity and colour becomes the natural reflection of a terroir that needs no forcing.
This edition, Vintage 2019, brings together 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay grapes with the addition of 5% Bouzy Rouge, an element that sets the hue and widens the aromatic depth of the whole. Vinification and maturation take place entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel, so as to preserve the clarity of the fruit, while after tirage comes an ageing on the lees of at least five years that lends breadth, compactness and remarkable precision.
On tasting, Special Club Rosé 2019 shows a salmon pink hue enhanced by golden reflections and by a fine and persistent perlage, while the nose moves between red fruit, chalk, hazelnut, acacia honey, white peach and lychee, opening with time towards nuances of ripe citrus and dried flowers. On the palate it is ample and structured, carried by a vibrant mineral freshness that accompanies raspberry, cherry, sweet spices and candied citrus over a creamy and refined texture, through to a long and precise finish.
