Joyau Chardonnay 2007

The Champagne Joyau Chardonnay 2007 by Boizel embodies the quintessence of the House’s savoir-faire, a rare and precious interpretation of pure Chardonnay. The cuvée is crafted from a meticulous selection of grapes sourced from four renowned crus of the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, and Vertus. This Blanc de Blancs fully expresses the personality of its terroir, combining elegance, finesse, and remarkable ageing potential.

For the vinification, only first-press juice is used, handled with utmost delicacy to preserve varietal purity. After the tirage, the wine matures for more than 15 years on the lees, gaining aromatic complexity and structure. The final dosage of 5 g/l (Brut) ensures perfect balance, enhancing the freshness and precision of this vintage.

On the palate, Joyau Chardonnay 2007 reveals a luminous pale golden colour with green highlights and an extremely fine effervescence. The nose is refined and elegant, offering aromas of hawthorn, almond, and fresh citrus such as grapefruit and lemon zest, interwoven with subtle pastry notes and delicate minerality. The palate is dense and ample, with a crisp, balanced structure, vibrant freshness, and almost saline accents blending with generous hints of toasted hazelnuts and brioche. The finish is long and fresh, marked by incisive minerality that defines its style.

Boizel

Founded in 1834 in Épernay by Auguste Boizel and Julie Martin, the House of Boizel stands among the historic families of Champagne, with a savoir-faire passed down through six generations. Today, Florent and Lionel Roques-Boizel lead the House toward its bicentenary, maintaining a consistent vision shaped by artisanal precision, contemporary awareness, and a strong focus on sustainability, with the aim of expressing the purity of the grapes and the identity of each terroir.

The estate vineyards, covering around 7 hectares, are located in the Grands and Premiers Crus of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, with historic parcels in Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. These are complemented by grapes sourced from carefully selected partner growers in the Vallée de la Marne, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier. Each parcel is managed with equal care, preserving its distinct character and contributing to the House’s signature style.

In the cellar, the philosophy favors a restrained approach, allowing the raw material to speak with clarity. Each cru is vinified separately in small stainless steel tanks, creating a broad palette for precise blending. The balanced use of oak barrels and large wooden vats complements the steel, adding depth and refinement without overshadowing the terroir, resulting in Champagnes that are elegant and true to their origin.
