The Champagne Salon 2013 represents the forty-fourth edition in 120 years since the founding of the Maison, a vintage capable of shaping an elongated and well-defined profile, like a Greek god with a refined and perfect figure, muscles meticulously sculpted, ready to conquer hearts and palates. Salon remains faithful to its founding principle, under the sign of the one: created from the vision of Aimé Salon, it comes from a single terroir, the Côte des Blancs, from one Grand Cru, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, from a single grape variety, Chardonnay, and is the sole offspring of a single harvest.

The 2013 vintage stands out for its extraordinary stature and an elegance that commands attention. Despite being the product of a climatically challenging year – marked by harsh winter temperatures, rain, and subsequent summer heat – September’s autumn provided the ideal conditions for a slow and complete ripening, completed at the beginning of October. The harvest, born of extreme conditions, yielded a wine of splendour, intensity, and elegance, concealing an unexpected and surprising strength. Ten years of ageing in the deep cellars have sculpted the features of a mythological wine, a Proteus with striking beauty and an impressive physique.

On the palate, Salon 2013 opens with floral notes of linden and jasmine, followed by fresh citrus sensations of bergamotzest, all integrated into a bouquet that speaks directly to the identity of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, revealing its subtle and profound mineral vein. The taste is rich, long, and perfectly balanced, driven by a calibrated power and wrapped in an elegant texture, the result of patient time in the service of nature.
