La Collection Crayères Millésime 1985 represents one of the rarest and most significant expressions in the history of the Maison — a vintage Champagne that captures, with remarkable intensity, the authentic spirit of 1980s Champagne. Born from a memorable year, marked by an exceptionally harsh winter and a bright, dry summer, this cuvée reveals the strength of the terroir in turning climatic challenges into harmony, depth, and balance. Remembered by vignerons for the outstanding ripeness of its Chardonnay, distinguished by elegance and noble finesse, the 1985 harvest finds in this bottle one of its most accomplished interpretations: a Champagne of patience and mastery, crafted to endure time and tell the story of an era.

The blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, sourced from select parcels in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, achieves a perfect balance of power and refinement. The 1986 tirage and the exceptionally long 34-year ageing on lees in the historic chalk crayères have shaped an aromatic texture of rare complexity and depth. The final dosage of 9 g/L, in Brut style, guides the wine’s evolution with poise and precision, preserving its mineral tension and crystalline persistence.
