The Champagne Cuvée Œuf by André Heucq belongs to the Héritage collection and is born from 100% Meunier grapes harvested in the Vallée de la Marne, between the villages of Cuisles and Mareuil-le-Port. In this corner of Champagne, Meunier finds an ideal home, and the philosophy of the Domaine celebrates its most authentic soul, giving value to a variety too often relegated to a supporting role in order to reveal instead all of its expressiveness and aromatic depth.

This edition, from the 2023 harvest, interprets the vintage through a vinification and first fermentation carried out in concrete eggs, which encourage a gentle movement of the fine lees and a natural breadth of substance. After tirage, the wine matures on its own lees for at least 18 months, enriching its complexity and gustatory texture. It is finished with no final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, keeping its verticality and marked mineral tension fully intact.

On the palate, Cuvée Œuf appears with a particularly luminous pale gold colour, introducing an elegant bouquet of brioche, pastry cream, hazelnut and yellow flowers such as mimosa. With aeration the profile becomes more intense and turns toward baked pear, cardamom and anise, before revealing rennet apple, quince jelly, white pepper and iodine nuances, in a sequence of great complexity and seductive character. On the palate the attack is precise and relaxed, followed by a structured, fleshy and lively substance, supported by the tautness of the effervescence in a balance that is coherent, dynamic and silky at once. The finish is fresh and very long, animated by an elegant saline minerality that closes with a slight chalky sensation.
