Champagne Marie Copinet
Rupture
The Champagne Rupture by Marie Copinet is a declaration of freedom, a wine that breaks with convention to reveal itself bare and honest, without added sulphites and able to tell the story of its terroir without filters. It comes to life on the clay soils of the Cuchery lieu-dit, on the Rive Droite of the Vallée de la Marne, where Meunier meets a warm and deep soil farmed organically through soil tillage, spontaneous cover cropping and care of the vines without chemical products, in a sincere listening to the land and its smoky character.
This edition, from the 2020 harvest, is born solely from Meunier grapes, with a vinification and fermentation carried out thanks to indigenous yeasts in a slow and low-intervention manner, while the wine matures calmly on its own fine lees. After the tirage follows a long ageing of over 40 months on the lees, before a dégorgement with no final dosage, in Brut Nature style, to preserve its natural tension fully intact.
On the palate, Rupture opens on a smoky and textural profile typical of clay, with a fruity and spicy breath recalling vineyard peach, ginger and ripe apple, supported by a creamy and finely enveloping effervescence. It then unfolds with a pulpy and juicy substance, where the perfectly integrated acidity dialogues with the chalky minerality and shapes a full, vibrant balance that leads towards a long, taut finish of remarkable saline persistence.
