The Côteaux Champenois Blanc 7 Cépages by Mouzon-Leroux originates in the Grand Cru of Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims, as an identity-driven project that tells the story of Champagne’s historical ampelographic diversity. This cuvée brings together seven grape varieties grown within the same terroir: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier, and four Cépages Oubliés – Arbane, Petit Meslier, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris (Fromenteau) – reviving an almost forgotten agricultural heritage and translating it into a still wine of rare territorial coherence.

This 2021 vintage edition is crafted following an artisanal, low-intervention approach. The grapes are harvested at full ripeness and vinified separately, with spontaneous fermentations and an ageing period of around 20 months in oak barrels, a choice that supports the wine’s evolution without altering its varietal character. The cellar work prioritizes precision, expressive transparency, and respect for natural balance, allowing the complexity of the blend to emerge without stylistic overstatement.

On tasting, the Blanc 7 Cépages 2021 shows a bright golden-yellow colour. The nose is refined and layered, offering ripe white fruit, citrus notes, delicate floral nuances, and a clear mineral imprint. On the palate, it delivers freshness, energy, and a well-defined structure, supported by balanced acidity that extends the wine’s length. The finish is saline, persistent, and fully aligned with the identity of its terroir. Produced in a limited run of just 606 bottles, it stands as one of the rarest and most thoughtful contemporary expressions of Côteaux Champenois.
