Les Années - Solera
The Champagne Les Années - Solera by Adrien Renoir is a Blanc de Noirs that captures the full depth of Pinot Noir from Verzy, a Grand Cru village of the Montagne de Reims where vines of around fifty years, rooted in chalk, yield fruit of great concentration, finesse and character. Its guiding philosophy is memory, as the Solera started in 2013 preserves the evolution of the terroir year after year and returns a layered, intense and timeless portrait of it.
This edition, the expression of a réserve perpétuelle that is enriched with each harvest by the addition of the youngest wine, is made solely from Pinot Noir grapes, with vinification and fermentation in oak barrels through spontaneous fermentations led by indigenous yeasts. After tirage comes ageing on the lees of at least 24 months, while the final dosage, below 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, preserves the purity and transparency of the wine.
On tasting, Les Années opens with a broad and refined bouquet in which ripe cherry, raspberry, hazelnut and dried fruit intertwine with elegant hints of bread crust and yeast, the legacy of its long maturation. On the palate it is vibrant, mineral and structured, with a creamy texture and fine savouriness supported by a delicate bead and calibrated acidity, which lead to a long and harmonious finish where the return of red fruit confirms a balance of great refinement.
