Les Vignes Goisses 2022
The Champagne Les Vignes Goisses by Adrien Renoir is a Blanc de Noirs of rare refinement that gives voice to Meunier from Verzy, a Grand Cru village of the Montagne de Reims, through a historic lieu-dit planted in 1962. Here the clay-limestone soils give the wine finesse, expressive purity and a striking mineral depth, offering an authentic portrait of an often underestimated grape, interpreted with the essential, precise and transparent style of the Domaine.
This edition, Vintage 2022, the child of a warm and sunny year that delivered ripe and balanced grapes, involves vinification and fermentation in oak barrels through spontaneous fermentations, without fining or filtration, in full respect of the fruit's identity. After tirage comes ageing on the lees of at least 36 months, which brings complexity and harmony, while the final dosage, below 3.5 g/l, in Extra Brut style, enhances the tension and softness of the Meunier.
On tasting, Les Vignes Goisses 2022 shows a brilliant gold with pinkish reflections and a fine, persistent bead, opening with notes of ripe yellow fruit such as peach, pear and apricot, enriched by floral hints and delicate toasty touches. On the palate it is soft and enveloping, with a silky texture and a precise balance of fruit, freshness and minerality that leads to a long, harmonious and persistent finish, confirming the great finesse and personality of this cuvée.
