Champagne Adrien Renoir
Le Cepage
The Champagne Le Cepage by Adrien Renoir is a pure expression of Pinot Noir from Verzy Grand Cru in the Montagne de Reims. This Blanc de Noirs comes from vineyards around 50 years old rooted in clay-limestone soils capable of giving the wine intensity, structure, and elegance, enhancing the finesse and typicity of one of Champagne’s emblematic grape varieties. The limited production and the Domaine’s artisanal philosophy reflect a precise and transparent interpretation of the Verzy terroir.
This edition, from the 2023 harvest, is naturally vinified with spontaneous fermentations in oak barrels according to a terroir-focused approach. The wine matures for around 10 months on fine lees without fining or filtration, preserving integrity and aromatic complexity. After tirage, it undergoes a minimum of 24 months of aging on the lees. The final dosage of less than 1.6 g/l, in Extra Brut style, highlights the expressive purity, freshness, and precision that define Adrien Renoir’s work.
In tasting, Le Cepage reveals an elegant and balanced profile characterized by floral notes, delicate toasted nuances, and vibrant freshness. On the palate, it stands out for its incisive minerality, savory texture, and harmonious tension leading to a long and enveloping finish. A Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs capable of authentically expressing the distinctive identity of Verzy and the refined artisanal vision of Adrien Renoir.
