The Champagne Les Montants 2020 by Adrien Renoir is a refined Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs crafted from Chardonnay grapes sourced from the historic Les Vignes Goisses parcel (lieu-dit), planted in 1961 near Verzy in the Montagne de Reims. This terroir, characterized by clay-limestone soils and a particularly balanced microclimate, gives the wine mineral depth, energy, and elegance, expressing with precision Adrien Renoir’s essential and transparent style. The limited production further enhances the exclusive character of this single-parcel interpretation.
This edition, Vintage 2020, is vinified through spontaneous fermentations in oak barrels according to a natural and terroir-focused approach, without fining or filtration. After tirage, the wine undergoes a minimum of 36 months of aging on the lees, contributing additional complexity, structure, and aromatic depth. The final dosage of less than 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, supports the wine with precision and tension while preserving the saline freshness and identity of Chardonnay from Verzy.
In tasting, Les Montants 2020 reveals an elegant and luminous profile characterized by notes of candied citrus, white flowers, and fresh chalk evolving into hints of fine pastry, toasted hazelnut, and delicate buttery nuances. On the palate, it stands out for its vibrant freshness, creamy texture, and pronounced mineral imprint leading to a long, harmonious, and remarkably precise finish.
