Le Terroir

The Champagne Le Terroir by Adrien Renoir is a refined interpretation of the Verzy Grand Cru terroir in the Montagne de Reims, one of the most prestigious areas of Champagne. This Champagne is crafted from equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes sourced from vineyards around 50 years old rooted in clay-limestone soils capable of giving the wine intensity, finesse, and mineral energy. The limited production and the Domaine’s artisanal approach reflect an authentic and precise interpretation of Verzy’s territorial identity.

This edition, based on the 2022 harvest with an additional 20% of vin de réserve from the 2021 harvest, is vinified with spontaneous fermentations and a very limited use of sulfur to preserve purity and expressive transparency. After tirage, the wine ages for around 24 months on the lees, enhancing both complexity and depth on the palate. The final dosage of less than 1 g/l, in Extra Brut style, supports the wine with precision and tension while preserving the clarity of both fruit and terroir.

In tasting, Le Terroir reveals an elegant and vibrant profile characterized by fruity and floral notes accompanied by pronounced minerality and fresh citrus tension. On the palate, nuances of white fruits, bread crust, and yeast emerge, supported by a savory and creamy texture leading to a long, harmonious, and refined finish. A Grand Cru Champagne capable of authentically expressing the distinctive character of Verzy and the artisanal vision of Adrien Renoir.
