Adrien Renoir is among the leading figures of the new generation of vignerons transforming Champagne, reinterpreting the family vineyards with an innovative and authentic style. Despite his young age, he has already brought extraordinary elegance and finesse to his Grand Cru wines from the Montagne de Reims, thanks to massale selection. After years alongside his father, in 2019 he took over the five hectares of the Domaine in Verzy, bottling under his own name. His production, based on respect for the terroir, has been organic since 2020, with herbicides eliminated as early as 2015.

The village of Verzy extends over three hills and valleys, offering diverse exposures that influence its wines. To the east, near Villers-Marmery, the thin topsoil rests directly on chalk, ideal for the Chardonnay of Les Montants. In Verzenay, the soil is more compact with black clay, while Les Epinettes, with old Pinot Noir vines facing northwest, produces structured wines with vibrant acidity. Around 50-60% of Verzy’s vines come from pre-1965 massale selection, a distinctive element of its Champagnes.

In the cellar, Adrien has chosen to age all his wines in oak barrels, maturing the vin de réserve in large foudres. The winemaking process is entirely artisanal: spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, bâtonnage on the lees, and no temperature control, thus ensuring authentic and complex expressions of the terroir.
