Le Terroir V21 Magnum

The Champagne Le Terroir by Adrien Renoir expresses with precision the identity of Verzy Grand Cru, in the Montagne de Reims, through an authentic and contemporary interpretation of this remarkable terroir. This cuvée is crafted from equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, sourced from vineyards averaging 50 years of age and rooted in clay-limestone soils capable of transmitting depth, energy, and a pronounced mineral signature to the wine. The limited production and Adrien Renoir’s artisanal approach reflect a philosophy focused on expressive purity and respect for the terroir.

This edition, based on the 2021 harvest with an additional 20% from the 2020 harvest, is vinified through spontaneous fermentations with a very limited use of sulfur, preserving aromatic integrity and transparency. After tirage, the wine ages on the lees for around 24 months, a period that enhances both complexity and texture. The final dosage of less than 1 g/l, in Extra Brut style, supports the wine’s profile with precision and tension, preserving the clarity of the fruit and the character of its origin.

In tasting, Le Terroir reveals an elegant and dynamic profile where citrus notes, white fruits, and floral nuances intertwine with mineral sensations and hints of yeast and bread crust. On the palate, a savory and vibrant structure emerges, driven by freshness and depth, leading to a long, balanced, and refined finish. A Champagne capable of expressing with authenticity the distinctive character of Verzy and the talent of a new generation of Champenois vignerons.
