Verzenay Rouge 2022
The Coteaux Champenois Rouge Verzenay by Adrien Renoir is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from the lieu-dit La Rochelle, a parcel located near Verzenay Grand Cru in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. The 2022 harvest precisely reflects the character of this historic Champagne terroir, renowned for Pinot Noir wines capable of combining depth, elegance, and mineral tension. The limited production and the Domaine’s artisanal approach enhance an authentic and contemporary interpretation of still red wine from Champagne.
This edition, from the 2022 harvest, is vinified and matured in fût de chêne for around 16 months before bottling in March 2024. The oak aging accompanies the wine with balance, contributing additional structure and aromatic complexity without altering the expressive precision of Pinot Noir. The result is a red wine that preserves freshness, fruit definition, and a pronounced territorial identity.
In tasting, Rouge Verzenay 2022 reveals an elegant and velvety profile characterized by notes of ripe cherry, red berries, and delicate spicy nuances. On the palate, it displays a fine and harmonious texture supported by energy, depth, and perfectly integrated tannins, leading to an intense, persistent, and refined finish.
