Spécial Club 2016
The Champagne Spécial Club by Vazart-Coquart is a Blanc de Blancs made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from two Lieux-Dits, Le Mont Aigu and La Cerisière, located in the Grand Cru village of Chouilly, in the Côte des Blancs. Here, the vines—around 45 years old on average—are deeply rooted in chalky soils rich in Bélemnite fossils, which impart the wine with its distinctive mineral finesse.
This edition, Vintage 2016, with vinification in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats and full malolactic fermentation. Ageing takes place under cork for a minimum of 72 months, followed by dégorgement à la volée and a final dosage below 2 g/l, in Extra Brut style, perfectly reflecting the Domaine’s pure and refined elegance.
On the palate, Spécial Club 2016 appears luminous and brilliant, with golden reflections and a fine, steady bead. The bouquet is refined and complex, revealing notes of candied citrus, white peach, and linden blossom, enhanced by hints of light honey, almond, and bread crust. Over time, delicate mineral and chalky nuances emerge, amplifying depth and purity. The palate shows perfect balance and elegance: dense yet finely sculpted, with a creamy, taut texture supported by vibrant freshness that brings drive and precision. The finish is long and saline, with lingering notes of citrus and wet stone. A Blanc de Blancs of great finesse and structure, uniting energy and harmony—an emblem of Chouilly’s luminous classicism.
