82/17
The Champagne 82/17 by Vazart-Coquart is a prestigious Blanc de Blancs, made exclusively from Chardonnay grown in the vineyards of Chouilly, a Grand Cru village in the renowned CĂ´te des Blancs. The estate spans 11 hectares, with vines averaging 45 years of age, rooted in BĂ©lemnite chalk soils, ideally suited to expressing finesse and minerality.
This edition is drawn from the Réserve Perpétuelle, initiated in 1982 and renewed each year by 40% using only base wines up to the 2017 vintage. The blend brings together 37 vintages, from 1982 to 2017, offering one of the most authentic and complex interpretations of the Chouilly terroir. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, with malolactic fermentation carried out, followed by extended aging on the lees for at least 60 months after bottling. The Brut Nature style, with no dosage, enhances freshness, precision, and mineral tension, making this Champagne a benchmark for true connoisseurs.
In tasting, 82/17 shows a bright golden-yellow color with a very fine, persistent bead. The nose reveals notes of ripe citrus, dried fruit, acacia honey, and delicate pastry and toasted nuances, lifted by mineral accents. On the palate, it is broad and elegant, supported by vibrant freshness and a creamy texture in perfect balance. The finish is long and savory, marked by a pronounced chalky imprint and remarkable persistence. Produced in a limited run of only 625 bottles.
