Champagne Rousseaux-Batteux
Rosé "Les Champs Brûlés" 2021
The Champagne Rosé Les Champs Brûlés 2021 by Rousseaux-Batteux is a Rosé de Saignée from the eponymous lieu-dit, located in the Grand Cru of Verzy, on the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims. The Pinot Noir vines, planted in 1964, cover 0.15 hectares and are cultivated without herbicides or insecticides, with natural cover croppingand soil tillage in accordance with a sustainable plant protection approach.
The 2020 harvest took place at full ripeness of the grapes, followed by fouage, destemming, and a 24-hour cold maceration on the skins. The must, naturally tinted in this way, underwent fermentation and 10 months of ageing in oak barrels. Bottling was carried out without filtration or cold stabilization, allowing for the possible presence of a slight natural sediment that does not affect the quality of the wine. This was followed by 36 months of ageing on the lees and a final Extra Brut dosage of less than 3 g/l.
On the palate, Les Champs Brûlés 2021 reveals an intense and refined aromatic profile, with notes of ripe red fruits, pomegranate, and delicate spices, enriched by subtle floral nuances. The palate is broad and structured, supported by vibrant freshness and a fine mineral texture, leading to a persistent and harmonious finish.
A limited and numbered production of only 920 bottles.
