Les Juliennes Rosé 2020
The Champagne Les Juliénnes Rosé by Georges Rémy comes from a single plot (lieu-dit) in the Grand Cru of Bouzy, one of the finest terroirs of the Montagne de Reims for Pinot Noir. The vines, farmed organically, grow on chalky soils that give the wine tension, finesse and elegance, returning a luminous fruit that is never weighed down. It is from this narrow reading of the land that a rosé of great precision takes shape, where the generosity of the variety is guided by a hand attentive to measure rather than to exuberance.
This edition, Vintage 2020, comes from 100% Pinot Noir grapes vinified with a maceration of around 8 hours that defines colour and aromatic profile, followed by vinification and maturation for 10 months in fût de chêne. After the tirage comes a long rest of more than 36 months on the lees, a time that widens the aromatic range. At dégorgement the wine is left with no final dosage, in a Brut Nature style, protecting an absolutely clear definition of the fruit.
On tasting, Les Juliénnes Rosé 2020 shows a luminous colour and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose it opens on intense notes of fresh red fruit, pomegranate and raspberry, enriched by delicate spicy hints. On the palate it reveals a silky, vibrant texture, supported by a saline freshness that runs through the whole development and by an elegant, well proportioned structure, leading to a harmonious finale of long persistence. Production in a limited run of 546 bottles.
