Cuvée Soul Rebel

The Champagne Cuvée Soul Rebel by Jérôme Lefèvre celebrates the meeting of two grape varieties and two generations of vines in the Les Chapelles (lieu-dit) plot in Saulchery, from the Vallée de la Marne, a still little-known corner of Champagne where gentle slopes overlooking the river give the wines energy and depth. A free and non-conformist spirit which, in keeping with certified organic farming, turns a small plot into a personal interpretation that breaks the mould.

This edition, based on the 2023 harvest, is a Blanc de Noirs that brings together Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes in equal parts, pressed together to seal from the very start the bond between the two varieties and the different ages of the vines, with vinification and maturation designed to respect the integrity of the fruit. After tirage comes ageing on the lees of around 22 months until dégorgement, with the choice to proceed with no final dosage, in Brut Nature style, for an even more authentic expression.

On tasting, the Cuvée Soul Rebel combines the structure and small red fruits of Pinot Noir with the fruity generosity of Meunier, with hints of red apple, redcurrant and citrus supported by a lively freshness and a subtle savoury texture, while on the palate the entry is frank and dynamic, with a structure of good substance that carries the development towards a dry, precise finish of fine persistence. Production in a limited run of 700 individually numbered bottles.
