Rosé Cuvée Playing With Fire II
The Champagne Playing With Fire by Jérôme Lefèvre is a bold and original Cuvée that challenges the most classic conventions of the appellation, giving voice to old vines from the Vallée de la Marne farmed under certified organic practices, where slopes overlooking the river give the wines energy, fruit and a distinctive personality. A free and contemporary cuvée, created to express the richness of the terroir with a unique and recognisable style.
This third edition, based on the 2023 harvest, is a Rosé d'assemblage that brings together Meunier from Mont de Bonneil, vinified as a white wine and making up 90%, with a red base of Pinot Noir grapes from Saulchery for the remaining 10%, with vinification and spontaneous fermentation in oak barrels. After tirage comes ageing on the lees for around 22 months until dégorgement, with the choice to proceed with no final dosage, in Brut Nature style, for a pure and authentic expression.
On tasting, the Rosé Playing With Fire III stands out for its vibrant and contemporary expressiveness, with intense, ripe red fruit supported by lively freshness and a very fine mousse, while on the palate the elegant texture accompanies a dynamic development in which complexity and tension find a precise balance, leading to a dry, savoury finish of fine persistence and great energy. Production in a limited run of 700 individually numbered bottles.
