Champagne Lointier
Rosé de Saignée Causica
The Champagne Rosé de Saignée Causica by Lointier is a rosé entirely devoted to Meunier, a variety that here finds a vivid interpretation full of personality in its saignée version. The grapes come from the lieu-dit "Les Cailleaux" near the village of Brasles, in the western part of the Vallée de la Marne, where the brown soils of limestone and rich clay, worked biodynamically, imprint on the wine a dynamic between fruit and salt that defines its identity, conveying the authenticity of a terroir interpreted with rare coherence and respect for the raw material.
This edition, based on the 2022 harvest, is vinified with a sixteen-hour maceration, a technique that allows pigments and structure to be extracted from the grape in a targeted way without compromising its finesse. After tirage comes an ageing of at least twenty-four months on its own lees, which brings depth and a complete texture, at the end of which the final dosage of 1.5 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, enhances freshness, purity and territorial recognisability, offering an authentic and refined reading of the terroir of origin.
On the palate, the Rosé de Saignée Causica shows an intense and deep aromatic component, with hints of infused undergrowth where red fruits, wet leaves, moss, medicinal herbs and raspberry juice blend into a vivid and evocative whole. The palate stands out for a vibrant tension and a fine tannic texture, which accompany a precise and dynamic development, closing on a long and clear finish that distinctly defines the identity of Meunier in its saignée version.
