Champagne Lointier
Millésime 2016
The Champagne Millésime by Lointier represents the first vintage signed by Jean-Baptiste Lointier, a Blanc de Noirs entirely devoted to Pinot Noir and deeply tied to its terroir of origin. The grapes come from the lieu-dit "Les Gueuvaines" near the village of Gland, in the western part of the Vallée de la Marne, where the clay-limestone soils worked biodynamically imprint on the wine tension and a marked territorial signature, conveying the authenticity of an interpretation by a young vigneron attentive to the respect of the raw material.
This edition, Vintage 2016, is vinified and matured for eleven months in used barriques, a choice that brings depth and complexity without altering the freshness and purity of the fruit. After tirage comes a long ageing of over seventy-two months on its own lees, which develops an elegant and harmonious aromatic profile, at the end of which the final dosage of 1.5 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, preserves tension and balance, offering an authentic and sophisticated expression of the terroir of origin.
On the palate, it shows a bold and structured character, where evolved and yeasty notes intertwine with a vibrant freshness and the typical honeyed note dear to the Domaine. The palate is solid and incisive, still evolving in the bottle but already able to come together with harmony, sustained by great liveliness and depth that close on a long and coherent finish, the result of a complexity that requires time to express itself fully and invites a slow and progressive discovery.
