Champagne Lointier
Mellifera
The Champagne Mellifera by Lointier is a vibrant and authentic expression of the Vallée de la Marne, a Blanc de Noirs showing a predominance of Pinot Noir at 85%, completed by 15% Meunier. The grapes come from the lieux-dits "Les Gueuvaines" in Gland and "Les Cailleaux" in Brasles, in the western part of the region, where the clay-limestone soils worked biodynamically imprint on the wine tension and a marked territorial signature, conveying the authenticity of a terroir interpreted by the young vignerons of the Domaine with rare coherence and respect for the raw material.
This edition, based on the 2023 harvest, is vinified and matured for eleven months in used barriques, a choice that brings depth and complexity without overwhelming the freshness of the fruit. After tirage comes an ageing on its own lees that enhances the harmony of the aromas, at the end of which the final dosage of 1 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, maintains a perfect balance between tension and roundness, offering an authentic and refined reading of the terroir of origin.
On the palate, Mellifera opens with hints of undergrowth, with notes of fragrant red fruits sustained by a dynamic and enveloping structure. The palate is intense and vibrant, in constant evolution, sustained by a lively freshness and a very fine bubble that accompany a deep and coherent development, closing on a savoury and deep finish that leaves the palate clean and satisfied, confirming the expressiveness of this cuvée.
