Champagne Laurent-Perrier
Millésime 2018
The Champagne Millésime by Laurent-Perrier is born from a demanding choice, that of declaring a vintage only when the season offers a harvest worthy of entering the Maison's memory. From Tours-sur-Marne emerges a vision that unites the luminous chalk soils of the Côte des Blancs with the sun-drenched slopes of the Montagne de Reims, two landscapes that lend the wine mineral tension and profound elegance. It is a philosophy of patience and selection, in which each vintage becomes the faithful portrait of a single year and of its unrepeatable identity.
This edition, Vintage 2018, brings together 52% Chardonnay grapes from the Côte des Blancs and 48% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, all sourced from villages classified as Grand Cru, respectively Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Cramant and Chouilly for the former and Verzy, Louvois, Aÿ, Tours-sur-Marne and Ambonnay for the latter. Vinification and maturation take place in stainless steel tanks, so as to preserve the purity of each terroir and the freshness that signs the Maison's style. After tirage follows seven years of ageing on the lees, capable of lending breadth and aromatic complexity.
On the palate, it appears with a pale gold robe traversed by very fine bubbles that feed a long-lasting bead of foam. The palate reveals great precision and intensity, with a balance built on the dialogue between vibrant freshness and a silky, enveloping texture. The structure is well sustained and unfolds with ease, while the slightly mineral and delicately saline finish prolongs the close, accentuating a length that confirms this wine's vocation for ageing.
