Champagne Laherte Frères
Rosé Meslier & Pinot
The Champagne Meslier & Pinot by Laherte Frères is a rare Rosé de Macération, the result of an equal blend of Petit Meslier and Pinot Noir, both sourced from parcels in the village of Chavot. The Petit Meslier comes from young vines planted in 2013, while the Pinot Noir is selected from a low-yield plot, offering both concentration and finesse. This assemblage reflects Aurélien Laherte’s commitment to reviving cépages oubliés and preserving Champagne’s biodiversity, particularly through the replanting of Petit Meslier in the Coteaux sud d’Épernay starting in 2003.
The 2020 harvest was vinified using traditional methods, with fermentation in fût de chêne, followed by lees ageing for at least 30 months. No dosage was added (Brut Nature – 0 g/l), a choice that enhances the wine’s expressive purity and natural tension.
On the palate, Meslier & Pinot stands out for its vibrant and multifaceted profile: aromas of wild red berries, citrus peel, and field flowers intertwine with a precise, saline mineral structure. The mouthfeel is energetic and vertical, with a sharp and persistent finish. A unique and limited edition of just 336 bottles.
