Chantemerle
The Champagne Chantemerle by Julien Prélat comes to life from vines planted in 1982 in the village of Celles-sur-Ource, on chalky soils rich in marine fossils that lend tension, energy and a vibrant mineral imprint. From a single plot worked with respect for the inherited land is born an authentic and vertical wine of great character, a faithful expression of a philosophy that entrusts the reading of the territory to Pinot Noir alone.
This edition, from the 2024 harvest, is a Blanc de Noirs of great complexity and structure, with vinification and fermentation carried out entirely in stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity and definition of the fruit. After the tirage comes a minimum of eighteen months of ageing on the lees, while the final dosage of 4 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, defines a refined profile.
On tasting, Chantemerle opens on the nose with a broad and articulate array of ripe fruit, sweet spices, candied fruits and delicate hints of yeast, testament to a deep complexity that unfolds in the glass with natural elegance and continuity. On the palate it reveals an effervescence that is rich yet very fine and creamy, supported by a full structure and impeccable balance, while the persistence stretches out vibrant and luminous into a long finish of rare depth and precision. Production in a limited run of 5,370 bottles, 67 magnums and 6 Jeroboams.
