The Champagne Pinotmaniac by Coessens is a declaration of identity and absolute passion for Pinot Noir, the emblematic variety of the Côte des Bar and the undisputed protagonist of the Domaine's history. Produced exclusively in Les Riceys from the four parcels (lieux-dits) Valmolin, La Gueule de Valmolin, L'Envers de Valmolin and Le Grand Valpreuse, this Blanc de Noirs captures with precision the power and the minerality of the Kimmeridgian soils of the Upper Jurassic, an allusion evoked by the symbolic Allosaurus on the label, an ancient predator of that geological era.

This edition, 2022 harvest, stands out for its ripeness and balance, with concentrated fruit and a luminous aromatic profile, and calls for a vinification of essential, transparent character, aimed at preserving the purity of the fruit and the authentic imprint of the terroir. After tirage comes an ageing on the lees of at least 24 months, while the final dosage below 3 g/l, in an Extra Brut style, heightens the tension and the mineral vibrancy that define the distinctive style of the Domaine.

On tasting, Pinotmaniac shows itself broad and vinous, with an aromatic range moving from small red fruits and ripe citrus to subtle spicy nuances and delicate hints of bread crust, wrapped in a chalky, mineral breath that sharply defines its profile. On the palate it reveals a full, slender structure, where the vibrant freshness and an incisive saline character carry a long, deep and persistent finish, of rare energy and absolute precision.
